In less than a week, my talented friend Tanis will be updating her Etsy shop with a heap of her stunning Grey Label yarn. As if the update alone weren't exciting enough, Tanis has decided to host an Arika Cowl knit along to pair with her lovely chunky base!
I don't really need an excuse to knit another Arika (I've knit 4 so far!) and I'm dying to knit with Tanis' Grey Label! The hardest decision has been deciding what TFA colourway to use! I'm pretty partial to this cowl in a neutral, for me it's the most wearable but also the simplicity of the pattern paired with a natural colour really let's the yarn shine. On the flip side, Tanis has some incredibly unique tonals and multi coloured yarns that are a perfect match for this pattern. This version of Arika in the Tartan colourway just blows my mind!

{ Sand }

Such an awesome idea, your stunning cowl is going to look wonderful is a whole array of TFA colours! Can't wait to see the FOs popping up. I'd participate, if I wasn't alllllmost done my Arika cowl, in a different yarn.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see them popping up too! ...and don't ever think you have to stop at just one Arika, lol, I'll be casting on my 5th!!! Haha! No doubt this one will be the most luxurious!
DeleteHi, I've been knitting this cowl for my daughter and I'm about to bind off. The pattern instructions are something that I always struggle with, specifically the phrase "ending with Row 1. BO loosely purl-wise" Does that mean that I should complete row 1 and bind off on the wrong side row purl wise (the wrong side row is the purl side). It probably doesn't affect the design all that much, but I would prefer to bind off as you had intended. Thank you. Jan (janmarieknits on Ravelry)
ReplyDeleteHi Jan! You'll want to end with Row 1, ie. Row 1 should be the last row you knit before binding off. Because you're ending with a RS row you will want to bind-off purl-wise instead of knit-wise. I hope this helps!
