SweetGeorgia Yarns || Welted Cowl

SweetGeorgia Yarns recently added a new base to their line of amazing yarns and I was dying to work with it. When Felicia asked me if I'd like to submit a design for their pattern line I jumped at the chance to try out Silk Mist

A few years back I designed a light weight scarf called Motley and since then it's gotten a lot of use. It's made from Kidsilk Haze and I love how such a whisper thin fabric can be so effectively warm and cozy. My favorite thing about the scarf is that when I'm not wearing it I can scrunch it up and stuff it in my pocket. We get pretty mild winters here on the Island which means it's easy to stay active outdoors all year round. I like to wear my Motley when I'm hiking because it fits perfectly inside my zipped hoodie and can easily be stashed once I get warmed up. My mom made a small Kidsilk Haze scarf for Elsie and I wear it running in the winter months.

So as soon as I laid eyes on the new Silk Mist I was dreaming of more light weight accessories. I'm really happy with the way the Welted Cowl turned out and I hope you like it too. I can honestly say it was extremely difficult to ship the sample off, I wanted to add it to my wardrobe and wear it everyday.

The best part? The pattern is FREE!

Happy Knitting!

  4. Oh boy! I would love to have a KAL for this, if only I didn't have so many things on the needles right now! You could always suggest it in our Ravelry group and see if there are others who would like to KAL with you... http://www.ravelry.com/groups/jane-richmond
