Off My Needles: Saltwater Rae

 I finished my Saltwater Rae!

As you may recall I did make one very large mistake in making this project and had to take a little break from working on it. It's been an excellent in-between project and I will miss having it on the needles because it was portable, easily memorized, and perfect if you only had time for a row or two.

...and Saltwater by Sweet Georgia Yarns is an extremely powerful colour. So powerful in fact that when our friend Grace brought her skein to knit night Shannon and I both went home and had vivid dreams of the colour at which point we caved and purchased our own skeins that following week.

Be warned, if you encounter this colour in person, it is undeniably irresistable.

...and also nearly impossible to photograph.

  1. Beautiful! I want a Rae. The shape, the garter stitch, it looks so perfectly cushy. Perfect bright blue. Blue is my absolute favorite colour and I knit with blues a lot, they can be really difficult to photograph! I feel your pain.

  2. It's beautiful! Did you block it? It looks so perfect along the edge.

    1. I wet block and then lay flat to dry, being very careful to make all of my lines nice and straight.

  9. Gorgeous Jane!! And so is your Rae! :) I think I need to stop admiring everyone else's Raes and get off my butt and finish mine (I'm a few rows away from starting the decreases!).

And yes, I have to agree, Saltwater is beyond impossible to photograph! I think I've spent many a day and way too many hours trying to properly capture the beauty of that colour...with not much success.
