Vancouver 2010

Because of our recent move Chris and I found ourselves with a little time off together, it's extremely rare. We decided to hit the road and spend a week with his parents in Chilliwack. One of the highlights of the trip was an overnight in Vancouver without the babe. We spent two days walking the streets of downtown, window shopping, people watching, and exploring the tail end of Olympic events.

This busy corner of Burrard and Davie Street has been repurposed. The land once housed a strip mall and gas station, it's now the home of the Davie Village Community Garden, it stopped me dead in my tracks. How wonderful, can you imagine what it looks like at the height of growing season, I can only imagine.

It appears a few other knitters would agree because the entrance has been tagged by this yarn bomb...

I love the look of all those tall glass buildings, Chris took this awesome shot, he also has a thing for cranes...

The mandatory visit to the Olympic Cauldron...

We gave our feet a short break while we enjoyed burgers and people watching...

Not sure why I like this shot so much, I just do...

To view da Vinci's "The Mechanics of the Man" we waited in a line that went all the way down the street and around. It was well worth the wait, extremely fascinating and certainly once in a life time.

And of course we had to check out ice skating and the zip line at Robson Square, we weren't willing to wait in either line though.

  1. Great pics, Jane! I love the building shot, too! Those walls have many stories to tell. :)
